While Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers may end up being the most watched event on television of the day, there are other other options for the casual sports fan in all of us on the first day of June.
Game 1 of the NHL’s Eastern Conference finals between the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins starts at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, that game can seen on NBC. I’m sure plenty of hockey fans can’t wait for this series to start, especially considering neither team has played a game in the past week.
The ESPN family of networks will have you covered with the college aspect of sports on Saturday with a full load of 2013 NCAA Baseball Championship games from the first round of regionals on ESPNU, ESPN 2 and WatchESPN throughout the night, while ESPN will have coverage from the 2013 NCAA Women’s College World Series.
With it being a Saturday, Major League Baseball (MLB) is scarce in primetime, but there are a few games on schedule including the Boston Red Sox traveling to The Bronx to face the New York Yankees, that game can be seen on Fox nationally starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Major League Soccer (MLS) is also in full swing on Saturday night, featuring multiple games including a matchup between Sporting KC and the Montreal Impact starting at 8:30 p.m. ET, which are two of the Eastern Conference’s top teams a little less than midway through the MLS season.
Heck, if you’re an Arena Football League (AFL) fan you can catch the Orlando Predators game against the Chicago Rush right from your computer thanks to Local 6.
So you see no matter what your sport preference is on Saturday night, you aren’t forced to watch LeBron James and the Miami Heat against Roy Hibbert and the Indiana Pacers. The truth is you have plenty of options, so choose wisely.
